Hi. I'm Elinor.
I'm the founder of Resilient Activists.
I started my journey as an activist thanks to my parents, who were active in Friends of the Earth, CND, Greenpeace, and their local wholefoods cooperative throughout the 1970s and early 1980s.
They took me to my first national demonstration — to Save The Whale — in 1977, and my stepdad accompanied me to CND demonstrations and actions several times a year throughout my pre-teens and teens.
My journey with activism and my journey with faith & healing have always been connected.
Even when going deep into my inner world left me with little time, energy or space for any work in the world other than that which put a roof over my head and food in my belly, I have sought roles — in organic food provision, worker’s cooperatives, complementary therapies, adult education, celebrancy, community development, research, and more — that contribute in some way to creating the world I want to live in.
My sense of what activism is or can be has always been broad: not a special sphere separate from everyday life, but woven throughout everything. The personal is political; the political is personal.
I am: a teacher, facilitator, and storyteller; a Witch, an Interfaith Minister, and a Priest/ess/x; a professional in personal, community and organisational development; a queer, genderqueer, bisexual dyke; a white, English, mostly middle class, chronically ill, disabled, neurodivergent, middle-aged, assigned female geek; and an aspiring race traitor.
I’m pleased to meet you.
