  • Action Collective

An action learning community for resilient activists

Whether you're still unsure of your role in movements for change, or you know exactly what action you want to take, it's hard to take it alone. And in the realm of social, economic and environmental justice, taking action alone doesn't get any of us very far.

Based on the principles of action learning, the Action Collective is a space where we can offer and receive support with our activism, and increase our resilience together.

    Who is it for?

The Action Collective is for anyone who is, or who wants to be, involved in activism.

Our definition of activism is very broad, and includes any kind of action which is directed at making the world more socially, economically, or environmentally just: anything and everything from street actions to parenting, teaching, organising mutual aid, community gardening, sitting on an organisation's board, running an anti-capitalist business, tracking fascists, making art, and more.

The Action Collective welcomes people with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, especially queer and/or trans people, people who are Black, Indigenous, Asian, otherwise of colour or members of ethnic minorities, and disabled people, including neurodivergent people. We are a trauma-informed space; however, the Action Collective does not offer counselling or therapy, and should not be used as a replacement for such.

  • Are you ready to join the collective?

    Access: £14/month

    Support: £28/month

    Equity:

    £56/month

    Justice: £84/month

  • How does it work?

When you join the Action Collective, you get access to several live meetings every month:

    • A monthly Action Learning Call - in which we address issues around activism that have come up for members, whether those are personal, interpersonal, or related to group action and its consequences.

    • A monthly Stillpoint Call - a space to review the month, express gratitude, and spend some time in quiet reflection.

    • A weekly peer-led Co-working Call - because sometimes it's easier to get things done in company.

You'll also be invited to join a private Slack channel, where you can bring your day to day questions, triumphs and struggles, to ponder, celebrate and commiserate together. The Slack channel is also there for you to self-organise additional co-working or other kinds of meetings and groups.

If, through our ongoing relating and engaging with one another, themes emerge within the Action Collective that we want to take action on together? Awesome!

    General Notes:

    • All live calls will be held using Zoom.

    • All monthly calls will be held on a Sunday afternoon, British time.

    • Weekly calls will be held on a day and time that suits most people.

    Accessibility Notes:

    • Zoom has built in AI generated closed captions, as well as text chat.

    • Action Learning meetings will be recorded, and the recording and AI generated transcript will normally be available within a week of the meeting.

    • Stillpoint and Co-working calls will not be recorded.

    Who's facilitating the space?

The live calls and Slack channel are facilitated by Elinor Predota. You can read more about Elinor here.

    What does it cost?

Membership of the Action Collective is offered on a sliding scale basis, and priced to make it as accessible as possible, while still covering at least some of the running costs.

    Monthly fees are as follows:

    Access: £14

    Support: £28

    Equity: £56

    Justice: £84

To find out where you might place yourself on this sliding scale, we've created a simple survey which you can complete here.
