When we're stressed, anxious, angry, or overwrought, our nervous system becomes activated -- and the rest of our body gets activated too. Our muscles tense up, and our bodies are flooded with cortisol and adrenaline.
But the relationship also goes the other way: consciously learning how to relax our muscles can help to ramp down our nervous system, and help our bodies remember what it's like not to be tense.
This download includes two guided relaxations, as audio files, and as transcripts, in a .zip folder.
