  • Sanctuary Sessions

    Become deeply rooted in who you are.

    Move forward with confidence and courage.

    A view upwards through the branches of a bare tree against a winter sky.
  • Your stories are powerful

    Each story you tell not only contains your thoughts, feelings, experiences and decisions, it creates your world; each one is a doorway not only into your past and your present, but into your possible futures.

    And your stories belong to you.

    Regardless of whether or not you are conscious of telling these stories, and regardless of where they originated, every one of your stories is yours.

    But often it is challenging to take full ownership of them. To claim, look at, and change your stories can be difficult work. At times, it can feel impossible. But you don't need to do it alone. I am here to support you.

    I can offer you perspectives and wisdom. I can offer you skills and techniques. I can offer you resources and guidance. But far more important than any of these, I can offer you sanctuary.

    A sanctuary is a sacred space in which you can feel safe to explore and unfold your own truth.

    That space, that sanctuary, is what I provide, without judgement, without dogma, without agenda.

    In such a space you can uncover all aspects of your story, all parts of yourself -- known and unknown, expected and unexpected, comfortable and challenging.

    With this knowledge, you can make choices about who you are, what you want, your place in the world, and what you will create.

    How I work

    My approach weaves together all I have learned from my decades of work in activism, community development, Interfaith Ministry, and both formal and informal education.

    I have specific training and experience in spiritual counselling, person-centred relating, being with difficult emotions, energy work, ancestor reverence and other forms of spirit relationship, and cultural and religious diversity.

    I am inspired by deep ecology and the idea and experience of inter-being, through time as well as space, from both Pagan and Buddhist perspectives.

    While I enjoy working with all kinds of people, I particularly welcome working with you if you are any of the following:

    •     disabled and/or chronically ill;
    •     neurodivergent;
    •     lesbian, gay, bisexual/pansexual, asexual, or queer;
    •     transgender, genderqueer, agender, or non-binary;
    •     polyamorous;
    •     kinky.

    You can expect me to:

    •     always work with you towards your goals;
    •     hold space for you;
    •     listen to you;
    •     ask you crucial questions;
    •     invite you into your body and breath, as a doorway into your own deep wisdom;
    •     support you to create your own personal practices to nourish and resource you;
    •     hold you accountable to your commitments;
    •     close each session by ensuring you are fully present, here and now, and ready to return to your day.

    How do sessions work?

    Sanctuary Sessions last for one hour, and are delivered via video call (e.g. Zoom, Skype, Whereby). Sessions usually two weeks apart, but weekly or monthly meetings can also be arranged.

    I offer Sanctuary Sessions on a sliding scale per session, as follows:

    • Access rate £72
    • Support rate £108
    • Equity rate £144
    • Justice rate £180

    To find out where you might place yourself on this sliding scale, I've created a simple survey which you can complete here.

    How do we get started?

    I only take bookings for Sustainable Action Coaching after a free, initial chat. This is to answer any questions you may have, ensure we're a good fit, and to agree on frequency and number of meetings, fee level, and any payment plan before we start working together.

    I look forward to our conversation.

  • What people say about working with Elinor

    Anuradha Kowtha

    Manifest By Design

    I love the qualities of caring, nurturance, awareness, and clarity that Elinor brings to els work. I felt cared for. I felt seen. I felt appreciated.

    I had a lot of fear of taking up space, and a lot of judgements about myself. Elinor approached all of that in ways that helped me see that that’s okay. El gave me strategies and tools, and new ways of looking at the situation that were really helpful.

    Elinor's integrity, genuine care for people, kindness, and how they show up, are all reasons I’d encourage people to work with them. El made it so easy to do the work.

    Alexis P. Morgan

    Artist, Writer and Sorceress

    Thanks to working with Elinor, my personal development process has sped up quite a bit, in a manner that’s very focused, grounded, and clear. Elinor holds these containers so well, and the work has matched my pace and bandwidth.

    I feel less apologetic about my existence, desires, and choices, and feel more confident and willing to examine my personal responsibility and my relationship with the choices I am making.

    Elinor teaches and transmits with clarity and purpose, is a very attentive, insightful listener and guide, and incredibly wise, thoughtful, and knowledgeable

    Anna Clapp

    Wild Moor Alchemy

    So many things have changed as a result of working with Elinor! Els guidance has helped me make tiny but noticeable changes to my daily life. I was happy to discover I am already doing many things that form part of my spiritual practice, even though I hadn't viewed them as such before.

    Doing the things I was already doing with intention has brought a bit more peace to my everyday life. I've gained clarity and the knowledge that I am doing okay just as I am.

    It was great to have someone who listened without judgement. Elinor's warmth shone through.
